Elopements are capped at 10 people.
Permit conditions
Elopement special event permit, requested by email or phone. Elopements are capped at 10 people. No events Friday to Sunday from the Friday before Memorial Day through Labor Day, and none on holiday weekends.
Commercial photography
Paid photography goes through the California Film Commission at film.ca.gov.
Lead time
Elopements can be requested up to six months ahead. Forty-five days or more is recommended, under forty-five days carries additional fees, and under thirty days is not considered. Film permits need two weeks minimum.
Prohibited
Receptions and catered events are not permitted. No seating and no exclusive access. Dogs are not allowed. Drones are prohibited across the Big Sur sector.
Parking
Open 8am to sunset. Day use $10 per vehicle. Parking, restrooms and drinking water on site. The beach is a one-mile walk with almost no elevation gain, across a seasonal footbridge that is not in place from October to mid-June.
