Capitola's film permit ordinance covers photography and is issued by the city manager. A shoot finished in one day between 9am and 10pm on private property is exempt. Exclusive use of a park area needs a separate permit filed at least seventy-two hours ahead. The insurance certificate is due at least three business days ahead. Dogs are prohibited on any public beach in Capitola, leashed or not, service dogs excepted. Alcohol prohibited. Sound devices need a permit. Parks are closed from sunset to 6am unless a permit extends it.
